About Us|Contact Us

Dear Informed Librarian:

We are grateful to all of you who value our one-stop professional current awareness resource, The Informed Librarian Online. Many of you have been with us from the very beginning; others have become Informed Librarians along the way through The Informed Librarian Online and its web site www.informedlibrarian.com

Multiple enhancements to The Informed Librarian Online were introduced and future expansions are under development. Our Search Module is now ready for alpha-testing. This exciting enhancement will revolutionize the way you research library periodical literature, enabling you to search tens of thousands of articles from 275 different journals, from archives to the most recent articles.

The ongoing development of enhancements has created the need for a change in the business model of The Informed Librarian Online, resulting in two levels of site access -- Premium Membership and Free Membership.

Premium Members are entitled to the same level of access presently available and will receive individual passwords with full access to all features of the web site.

Free Members will receive a monthly email announcing new issues, with a web page link offering a limited version of the current issue and selected hyperlinked titles. (Access to the web site will only be available using current passwords until May 31.)

We are committed to servicing information professionals with our

PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP --
  • Monthly issues, fully hyperlinked, arranged by both subject and title
  • Guest Forum articles – exclusive articles by experts in the field
  • Featured Articles – full-text of highlighted articles
  • Featured Books – special offers and discounts
  • Archives of all of the above
  • Monthly email notification
  • Access to future enhancements --
    • Search Module: Full-text search of all the content we link to, both archived and current
    • Customized profiles
    • Access to more full-text articles from the journals we link to
    • More full-text exclusive content
    • ...and much more!

Until May 31, 2004, the nominal annual fee for Premium Membership is $25. Bulk memberships, and student and retiree memberships are available at an even greater discount (as low as $10 per member). As an additional BONUS, if you upgrade now, your subscription will run through June 1, 2005.

Beginning June 1, 2004, the cost of Premium Membership for full web site access will increase. All members who do not upgrade by this date will continue as Free Members with limited access.

We encourage you to upgrade your membership now. Please contact me with any questions or comments about our site, the enhancements, and the new access levels. Thank you for your continued support to further improve and sustain The Informed Librarian Online.
